Last month, an unprecedented undergraduate women and gender minorities recognize the space and aviation internship, with Brook Oven Fellowship, Announced Its latest class is “Brokez”.

This ninth class of 45 students was selected from more than 400 applications, and they will fan from large companies like Space X and blue original companies to aerospace companies across the country, from large and sticks to small startups. There, their couple will be linked to executive level teachers who will help start their career.

However, there was a cloud hanging on this latest group of extraordinary students: she could be the last class of brokese receiving aerospace internship.

“Ten years ago, he was accepted by everyone, and was seen as a win for everyone,” said Lori Garoor, co -founder of NASA Deputy Administrator and Brook Oven Fellowship co -founder. “But we are not sure we can continue under the new administration.”

Dai is Duva

The reason for this is An executive order President Trump signed on January 20 for diversity, equity, and joining programs, or the elimination of DEI. The order states that “Americans deserve a government to serve everyone with equal dignity and respect, and spend taxpayers’ valuable resources to make the United States great only.”

Along with Brook Oven Fellowship as well as other similar programs such as Petty Grace Smith Fellowship for Black Undergraduates, partners with companies in the industry. Fellowship organizers screening hundreds of applications, which develops a pond from which companies can hire their choice and like them as internal and provide their guidance. Most of the 2025 class contracts were signed with companies before the execution of the executive order. Another organization that promotes a diverse internship, ZED Factor Fellowship started its screening shortly afterwards and recently told potential applicants that it had decided to “heartbreak” to prevent the 2025 fellow selection.
