Google is replacing Google Assistant with Gemini

The company announced Friday that Google will replace Google Assistant on Android phones with Gemini later this year.

Google Said in a blog post That it will upgrade more users to Gemini in the coming months than Google Assistant. This year, the assistant will no longer be available on most mobile devices or from app stores.

The company added, “Moreover, we will upgrade your phones, cars and devices that are connected to your phone, such as headphones and watches in Gemini.” “We are also bringing a new experience powered by Gemini, such as in domestic devices like speakers, display and TV.”

Google said it will share more details with consumers in the next few months, and by then, the assistant will continue to work on the aforementioned devices.

Google notes that it has worked to improve the gymnasium user experience before the assistant winddown, especially for users to rely on various assistant functions. For example, Google has included numerous highly requested features in Gemini on Android devices, such as the ability to play music, support for timer, and direct action from the user’s lock screen.

The move to leave the assistant in favor of Gemini is not surprising, especially considering that Google launches its Pixel 9 smartphone line with Gemini as a default virtual assistant.
