The US Senate Commerce Committee on Wednesday pushed the nomination to nominate private astronauts and businessman Jord Ishaq Man to the Senate floor as the next administrator of NASA, and set the final step before confirming it.
The vote was not unanimous, on 19-9, with all the votes coming from the senators on the democratic aspect of this corridor.
However, some of the major Democrats voted in favor of Ishaqman, including a committee ranking member, Maria Kent Well, De Wash. Before the vote, Kent Well said she appreciates that candidates like Ishaqman, business and private space lights, have a background, can bring new ideas and energy to the space agency.

The Kent Well and the Committee Chair, Texas Republican Ted Cruz, both emphasized that their support for Isaac Man is based on their public support for the Artemis program to return to the moon.
“The key need to continue the moon mission is to keep us in this position,” Kent Well said. “Although it is not clear to me that the Trump administration will eventually end on NASA’s budget, and I have concerns about their proposed deductions today, Mr Ishaqman is committed to the current project.
This determines that the US space policy is likely to be one of the main tensions in the next several years. President Trump has expressed his interest in sending humans to Mars, a goal that Isaacman also supports it. But key Congress officials have told Ishaqman that he expects the administration to take China back to the moon with US astronauts and establish a sustainable presence there.
