Most robots rely on complex control systems, AI -driven or in any way that rule their movement. These central electronic brains need time to react to changes in their environment and to create movements that are often weird, well, robotic.

It should not be like this. A team of Dutch scientists at the FOM Institute for Molecular and Atomic Physics (AMOLF) in Amsterdam created a new type of robot that can run, can move the barriers, and even swimming, all of which only run through the air. And it does all this without the brain.

“I was in a lab, working on another project, and had to turn a tube to prevent the air from passing through it,” says Alberto Kumorito, a robotic and author of the study. To see what was happening with the tube, Commorito set up a high -speed camera and recorded the movement. He found that the movement resulted in mutual interference between air pressure inside the tube and the condition of the tube itself.

When the tube had a kink, the mounting pressure pushed the kink along with the length of the tube. This reduced the pressure, which showed a new kink and helped repeat the bicycle. “We were very excited because we saw ourselves, continuously, inappropriate, proportional movement,” Kumorito told ARS.

The first reason for the excitement of Commorito was that the tube that flushed in his lab was driven by the physics of such air flow that Peter Marshall, Doron Gazette, and Ariya Dringer had developed their famous dance “Fly Boys” for the Olympic Games in 1996. Single Gulf Biology for Humans.
