Amazon Ground Controllers in Washington’s Redmund are overseeing the operation of the 27 Copper Satellite. Engineers there will examine the ability to freely propagate each satellite and to control the mission. So far, it’s going well.

The next phase will include activation of the satellite’s power property system so that it gradually climb 392 miles (630 km) on their orbit.

“Although satellites complete the accumulation process in orbit, we will be waiting for the purpose of our final mission: providing network contact from the end,” Amazon said in a press release. “This includes sending data from the Internet, through our ground infrastructure, up to satellites, and down Customer Terminal AntennaAnd then repeat the journey in the other direction. “

A moving last date

Although most rockets will use Amazon for the Koper Network, it has recently entered its service, but the delay in Atlas V in a spacecraft manufacturing at the Amazon factory near Seattle is not true that so far the Cooper Satellite has been placed on the ground.

Amazon and its launch suppliers need to move. To deploy half of the 3,236 satellite of the fleet to maintain network permission, Cooper’s Federal Communication Commission faced a deadline of July 2026. This is not going to happen. This will require an average of almost one launch per week.

The time limit is moving, and the FCC has already extended the deadline for the network permission. Brandon Car, chairman of the FCC’s Trump, discussed in a chapter for a “market -friendly regulatory environment” in which he authored for the Heritage Foundation. But Car Cooper’s main competitor is a close ally of Elon Musk, owner of the star link.

Amazon is not yet selling subscriptions for Cooper Service, and the company has said its initial focus will be on Cooper’s testing. In addition to challenging the Star Link, Cooper will also compete in some parts of the market with some other active Internet Megakone Station’s London -based operator Utilist One Web.
