How can I deal with having a new account for every service and website? Should I use new email addresses?
A new email address for each account is a big move! I will recommend having an email address for accounts that are the most important to you and then with something you use to sign up for things that are less important. There are also services that will allow you to create “burner” emails you can use to sign up with services, and if you use the Apple device there is a “hide my email”.
What points will you offer to those who want to maintain their digital privacy by crossing the American border (or otherwise enter or exit the states)?
It is really up to what level you can pose as an individual. Some cross -border people face more scrutiny than others. Even what you have said on social media or in messaging apps Likely to be used against you.
Personally, I have to think about what I have on my phone first: The kind of messages I have sent (and received), what I have posted publicly, and the logout (or remove) that I understand highly sensitive apps from my phone (such as email). A Burner phone Looks like a good idea, though this is not a true idea for everyone and it can make you more doubtful. It is better to keep a travel phone – one that you only use for travel is not sensitive or not connected to it.
My colleague Andy Greenburg and I have collected a guide that covers more than that: such as travels before the travels you can take, locking your devices, how to think about passwords, and reduce the data you are picking up. It is Here. Also, senior author Lily Hey Newman and I have specially developed a (long) guide The American border searches for the phone.
Would you recommend to have a device like Alexa in your home? Or are there some special products or steps you can take Take to make the smart device more secure?
Something that is always listening to your home – what can be wrong? This is certainly not great for overall surveillance culture.
Recently Amazon also reduced something Privacy options for Alexa devices. So if you are going to use a smart speaker, then I will consider what is the privacy settings of each device and then leave.
How do you look for people’s life to handle information about playing in supervision?
AI companies’ data quantity – and continues – really bothers me. There is no doubt that AI tools can be useful in some settings and some people (personally, I rarely use Generative AI). But I would usually say that people are not aware of how much they are sharing with chat boats and these companies. Tech companies need to collect the web wider data that their claims need to make is needed to make Generative AI – often with content creators, copyright rules, or little respect for privacy. In the upper part, fast, people’s posts with RAM firms are seeking to join the AI Gold Rush by selling or licensing this information.
