From the struggling Family Tea State to the modern climate project, Everything carbon Million has collected 12 million in the seed round as it plans to measure the removal of carbon dioxide in the South Asian nation. The climate tech startup, which has lockdown carbon for thousands of years through the weather of the growing rocks in the fields, has attracted investment under the leadership of Lachi Grome, co -founder of the Robotics AI Company Physical Intelligence.
The journey began in May 2020 with a bitter home. Siblings Shri and Siparsh Agarwal brought a distance of 16 hours from the eastern state of Kolkata to Darjeeling – this city is known for cultivating tea in the Himalayan leaves – which was expected to farewell to his family’s tea property, Salem Hill, in which the bankruptcy. Instead, this farewell tour put seeds for ALT carbon, which he formally launched at the end of 2023.
Initially, they found carbon markets as a way to restore their family business and help produce additional income of other tea properties in the region. But while searching for them, they discovered the weather of better rocks as a point of view that could transform the inheritance of Darjeeling by transforming the effects of climate change to a front of the climate process.
“In carbon markets, our feeling was that many projects in India, which are more abstinence, are of little quality, and they prepare junk credit,” said in an exclusive interview.
Last year, Alt Carbon started his pilot around the Agro -Family Tea State on approximately 500 acres of land, which he later extended tea from tea fields in northern Bengal to rice and bamboo. The purpose of the startup is to spread up to 500,000 hectares of land.
By 2030, the Startup aims to remove 5 million tonnes of carbon from the region by 2030, Sparesh told Tech Crunch.

ALT carbon deployed the weather of better rocks using Barak Barcank and ears waste basalt rock in the Rajmahl Traps province in eastern India. The construction industry is spreading in waste products, rock dust, fields of fields, where it naturally reacts with rainwater to remove carbon dioxide and add micronutrients to the soil to improve its fertility and health and increase crop production. When carbon dioxide contains rainwater interactions with basalt dust, it forms stable bike carbonate ions. They are stored in the soil and eventually flow from rivers to the sea, where they settle as calcium carbonate, and close carbon for more than 10,000 years.
From source places to fields from the fields to the fields, the latter relies on the Startup Rails and diesel trucks and pays unilateral fares as they are part of the tea industry’s freight transport system. Startup also avoids extraction from existing mining and crushing operations, relying on waste basalt, dedicated rock processing.
Instead of using the basalt dust, Startup has developed a proprietary combination of basalts and other organic ingredients, called Hari Mati (green clay in Hindi), so as to spread the farmers to spread their fields.
ALT Carbon estimates its carbon credit that is $ 270 per metric ton, which the stars said is significantly cheaper than direct air arrest credit, which they believe is about $ 800. However, he expects startup to reduce costs within 36 to 48 months.
Shri told Tech Crunch that the start -up relies on three layers of measurements to how much rock is falling and how much carbon is being removed, Shri told Tech Crunch. It begins with measurement to track the progress of the weather and then leads to the measurement of water inside the soil, groundwater samples and monitoring of the river. In the third layer, proprietary reaction models are used that help track the ions that are transmitted from clay to aquatic bodies. The startup also uses the machine learning modeling to get carbon-mercury number.
ALT Carbon says its models are close to the methods of carbon removal registrations, including isometric and puro.Earth. He has also obtained approval from inter -government organizations, including SBTI, ICVCM, and Curia.
Startup has labs in Darjeeling and Bangalore and has 8 to 10 PhDs, with a total of 25 employees. Its purpose is to measure these labs and raise their work for using remote sensing, analyzing more soil samples for better, high quality data collection and even better, high quality data collecting high quality data. Startups have also planned to deploy sensors to the ground at a low price and to gain more insights. All of this will come under the leadership of the groom during this seed.
Last year, Startup saved By Frontier, 000 500,000 Pre purchases And a billion of $ 1 billion is led by an advanced market, led by strip, alphabet, meta, shopkeepers and McCanis. This too recently Buyer Alliance, signed a strategic partnership with Next JeanPole South and Dost Sabashi Corporation was started, to measure its better rocks. The group also included BCG groups, Swiss RE, LGT, and UBS. Last month, Startup signed a Contract with Japan’s Shipping Co., Mol Group10,000 tonnes to buy carbon removal credit.
The ALT will provide its first carbon credit in less than a month through carbon isometric, Sparesh said.
