Johnson, a China strategy group, head of a risk consultancy, said that China has successfully benefited its pride on rare lands to bring the US to the US -based talks in Geneva, which has left the Trump administration’s China Hawkes to show its export control weapons.

Although it is a relatively small part of the semiconductor industry, EDA software allows chip designers and manufacturers to produce and test the next generation of chips, making it an important part in the supply chain.

Synopsys, Cadnce Design System, and Siemens EDA – Part of Siemens AG, Germany’s Siemens AG, part of the Digital Industries Software – about 80 percent of China’s EDA market account. Summary and Cadenus did not immediately respond to the comments requests.

In FY 2024, Synopsys reported about $ 1 billion in China’s sales, about 16 % of its income. China’s revenue is 550 million or 12 % of China’s revenue, Cadenus said.

On Wednesday, the shares of the Synopss declined by 9.6 %, while those in Cadenance suffered a loss of 10.7 %.

Siemens said in a statement that the EDA industry was told about new export controls last Friday. It said it has supported consumers in China for “more than 150 years” and “will continue to work with its customers globally to reduce the impact of these new sanctions while working in compliance with the applicable national export control governments.”

In 2022, the Biden administration introduced restrictions on the sale of highly sophisticated chip design software to China, but companies continued to sell products to the country according to export control.

In his first term as president, Donald Trump banned China’s Huawei from using US EDA tools. Huawei is seen as an emerging rival of NVIDIA with which it has “climbing” AI chips.

NVDIA chief executive Jensen Huang recently warned that the US administration’s continued efforts to hamstring China’s AI ecosystem with export controls failed.

Last year, Synopsys contracted to buy nineteen, in the US fake software company, AN 35 billion. The deal still requires approval from Chinese regulators. On Wednesday, ANSY shares declined by 5.3 percent.

On Wednesday, the US Federal Trade Commission announced that both companies would need to distribute some software tools to obtain its approval for the contract.

Export sanctions have encouraged Chinese rivals, including three leading EDA companies – Empire Technology, Primaryis, and Semitunics – their market share in recent years has been significantly increased.

Shares of Empires, Primaryis, and Semitunics increased by more than 10 % in early trade in China on Thursday.
