One of the longest mystery about Mars is the presence of dark and light lines on the rolling hills around the Olympus Mons. This week’s icon, from the European Space Agency, some of these lines were shown last October.
The massive mountain is about 222 km above the surface of Mars, which is twice as much as Mount Everest on Earth. To reach this conclusion, researchers used machine learning algorithm for scan and catalog lines in 86,000 satellite images from NASA’s Mars maintenance orbit. He created a map of 500,000 lines at Mars level. In doing so, researchers did not find any evidence of water.
The image of today’s post has been revealed by the European Space Agency’s Exominers Trace Gas orbit, and has been slightly amended to enhance the appearance of the series. It looks like art.
