Trump administration and Congress officials are investigating A contract between Apple and Alibaba This will bring Alibaba -powered AI features to iPhones sold in China, According to the New York Times.
Referring to anonymous sources, NYT says that White House officials and members of the House Select Committee related to China have asked Apple’s executives directly about the deal, with questions that have been focused on what the company will be dealing with. The executives were reportedly unable to answer most of these questions.
In a statement, Representative Raja Krishnamwarthi (Ranking Democrat in the House Permanent Select Committee for Intelligence) described Alibaba as a poster child for the Chinese Communist Party’s military-fusion strategy and said that it was “very disturbing” that Apple was not about it.
The deal itself is not Apple’s own, Alibaba has publicly confirmed. This is far from the only challenge that the growing tension between the United States and China presents the iPhone maker’s business, as the company is facing. Once again, revenues once again.
