US man who hacked SEC’s X account to spike Bitcoin price sentenced to prison

26 -year -old Eric Council Junior was sentenced to 14 months in prison on Friday and was supervised by three years for participating. Hack of Official X account of the US Securities and Exchange Commission.

According to the DOJ, the Council and its co -conspirators performed a performance SIM exchange Attack against a cellphone account of someone who had access to the SEC’s X account, which allowed hackers to control their phone number. From there, hackers reset the SEC’s XC account password, and give them control over the account.
