The popular NAS maker Synology has been confirmed and slightly clarified A policy that appeared on its German website Earlier this week: her The “plus” devices.Starting with the 2025 series, at least before, the synology-branded hard drives will be required for complete compatibility.
“The newly declared Plus series will require the SYN scientific branded drives in the newly declared Plus series, which plans to update the product compatibility list because additional drives can be thoroughly examined in the synology system,” a Snowology representative told ARS via email. “Widespread internal testing has shown that drives following the strict verification process when folding with the synology system poses a lower risk of drive failure and ongoing compatibility issues.”
In a device without synology-branded or approved drive, which is needed, NAS devices may fail to create a storage pool and the volume may lose widespread deduction and age analysis, Synology’s German Press Release said in. Similar drive restrictions are already available for the XS Plus and Rick Mounting Synology model, though there are work around the work.
Synology also says it will later include a “carefully prepared drive framework” for third -party drives and that user can present drives for testing and documents. “The drives that meet the strict standards of synology can be verified for use, offering flexibility while maintaining the integrity of the system.”
