It is not surprising to have a preference on the range schedule for Space X as it had already saved the launch window with the Space Force on April 10. SpaceX then delayed the special star link launch for two days until it finally started on Saturday evening, April 12. Another Space X -star link mission was launched on Monday morning.
There are many astonishing things about what happened last week. When Space X lost its reservation twice on the range two days, 10 and 11, why didn’t the ULA return in front of the line?
ULA, which is usually quite transparent about its reasons for launch scrubs, did not disclose any technical problems with the rocket that prevents another launch attempt. The ULA offers access to listen to the launch team’s audio channel during the countdown, and engineers are not discussing any important technical issues.
The company’s official statement said: “A new launch date will be announced when approved on the range.”
Also, why can’t the ULA make another run this week for the start of the Cooper Mission? The answer to this question is also an issue, but we have some educated speculations.
Changes in attitudes
A few days ago, SpaceX postponed one of its star link link missions without any explanation, leaving the Florida Space Port with a rare week without launch. Space X plans to resume launches from Florida early next week, with a Response Mission’s lift off at the International Space Station. The delayed star link mission will fly after a few days.
Meanwhile, the next launch attempt for ULA is unknown.
Tory Bruno, ULA President and CEO, is written on x These questions about the next Atlas V -launch are best directed by the Space Force. A ULA spokesman told ARS that the company is still working with the range to determine the date of the next launch. “Rockets and pay loads are healthy,” he said. “We will announce the date of the new launch once we are confirmed.”
